Major Cement Mining Company in Nigeria.
Our clients company consists of 9x quarry sites in the vicinity of the cement works out to a distance of 40kms. 3x sites are in operation with a further 6x waiting to commence. Some of the 6x will be a
restart from decommissioned small scale operations. The main quarry 82 – 83% limestone (Marble) metamorphic dispersion.
SG is 2.6 t.m3 in bank Marble with 2.65t/m3 Granite. Tooth life 350 hours, hard and abrasive product.
The total volume required daily 10,000t comprising of 82% Limestone, 17% Laterite and 1-2%. Iron ore and Correction Limestone.
Main Purposes of Job:
To augment our current specialist or replace.
Our project heavily relies on high drill availability; We have our own T35 top hammer drill as well as 2 other T45 top hammer
blast hole rigs.
Key Results/Objectives:
Supervise and lead the current team in fault finding, calibrations, as well as some drill operator training and drifter over-hauls and other general drill repairs.
Reason for Recruitment:
Expansion of the mining operations into new Areas.

Skills/Competencies:
Must have Quarry or Mining Experience
Must have worked in West Africa and can appreciate the complications of working with a developing workforce – (60% of our operators are from the local community and are inexperienced) in SME operation.
Experience Required
Good hands on tradesman. A good communicator who has experience of the local mechanics in Nigeria.
Someone with a strong knowledge in medium sized CAT and Komatsu Quarry equipment, (e.g 740 ADTs, 336 & 374 Excavators, D85 & D155 dozers and 988H loaders
Special Attributes
Good teaching and supervisory skills
Ability to pass on his knowledge to our local work force of mechanics
Salary
$60 – $75k (depending on experience).
8 weeks on & 2 weeks off.
