Job Title: Site Manager

Department/Section/Location:

A Major Construction Company in the Carribean has a programme of rapid expansion into the Caribbean. As a result, a Site Manager is required based in Antigua.

Main Purposes of Job:

Ensure Health and Safety management of projects assigned to you. Ensure effective environmental management of projects assigned to you. Oversee traffic management of designated projects. On site supervision and quality management of site staff, sub contractors and statutory authorities.

Key Tasks:

Assist in the promotion and solicitation of work for the company. Assist in estimating and tendering. Prepare and implement method statements for the works. Manage scheduling and cost management of work.

Ensure good relations with client staff whilst maintaining accurate agreed records of works by ensuring good files recording all correspondence, verbal instructions, site instructions, requests for further instructions, variations orders, drawing registers, site measure sheets, requests for extensions of time, site diaries and such essential correspondence are kept.

Assist the Quantity Surveying Department to ensure sub contracts are awarded and managed properly, and the client is billed for all works correctly in a timely fashion.

Ensure files are maintained accurately recording all correspondence with Sub contractors, vendors and other parties.

Review data sent to the accounting department ensuring it accurately reflects the field.

Reviewing current company procedures to ensure company operates to industry best practices.

Assist with preparation of progress reports.

Ensure material buyouts are done in a timely fashion.

Key Results/Objectives:

Deliver on all tasks assigned by PM in a timely and cost effective manner. Provide cover to the PM as and when requested. Efficient and successful completion of projects including assisting in settlement of final account in a timely period.

Reason for Recruitment:

Expansion into new Areas across the Caribbean.

Responsible for Staff/Equipment:

Daily delivery of the project requirements, by effective management of work crews.

Reporting To:

The Project Manager or his appointee.

Qualifications:

Degree in Civil Engineering.

Skills/Competencies:

Strong planning and organisational skills and effective management of work schedules.

Focused on accurate recording of all relevant data.

Strong customer focus.

Good team player – willing to assist and work closely with other team members (PM, QS, Sub contractors).

Experience Required:

5 years prior experience in similar role constructing highway / road schemes essential.

Special attributes:

Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Good at building relationships with the Client, Internal Team and Sub-Contractors.

Salary Level:

Annual salary is USD $85,000 and is payable monthly.

Monthly living allowance of US$1,600 per month.

Fully expensed company vehicle.

2 Economy return tickets to UK per annum or equivalent cash compensation.
